Prologue

A few years ago I met Salvador Banuelos, I was fortunate to find a promotional advertisement, I noticed that this collection Agency was specialized in Transport Industry. Since I had a couple of bad experiences with lawyers and companies which I assigned uncollectible accounts and unfortunately have not had any success in recovering that money.

We gave up, although the percentage of bad debts of a Company is not too high , any amount represents a loss. It was not until I started working with Amerex that finally I saw favorable results.

I remember well the first reunion with Salvador; I knew immediately that the success of Amerex as Collection Agency was derived from the comprehensive knowledge that as its Director had in this field. I finally found someone who spoke the same language as he knows the terminology and legislation relating to the freight transportation, besides of course that I realized his broad experience in the techniques and processes of credit and collection area that Salvador had acquired. It was the perfect combination of experience and knowledge.

Time after when Salvador discussed with me his idea of making a collection guide for the freight industry I found it wonderful as I am sure it will be of great help for all the business involved. However, when I had my hands on a preliminary issue, by reading it, I realized that it will not only help businesses in our industry; I think it can be a guide for many other companies. Even if this is focused on a particular industry, contains advice and procedures which might apply in any other company; specifically is a material that can be of a great value for those who work in the area of credit and collection.

Unfortunately in many cases the work in the credit and collection area is demerited and many people consider it as something easy or believe that is logical processes. By reading this book you will realize it is much more complex than it seems, but now with this guide seems much more simple since Salvador achieved to structure the fundamental parts that all companies must analyze ,while it provides tools that are extremely important and that can make a huge difference in the outcome of business.

I hope that his guide in only the first of many. Thanks to “Efficient Collections in Freight Transportation” the area of credit and collection in your company will be one less concern and can now be considered as a point in the ending of cycle of sale.
